Tila Nguyen, better known by her stage name, Tila Tequila, is a Vietnamese-American model and television host. Tila Nguyen is known for her appearances in men magazines, such as Maxim, Penthouse and Stuff, as well as for her role as the host of the Fuse TV show featuring performance striptease. Maybe the best known appearance of Tila Nguyen is her MTV reality show A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila, which aired for two seasons.

Despite her current glamorous life, Tila Nguyen had a tough early life. Tila Nguyen was born in Singapore, where her family family had emigrated from Vietnam after the outbreak of the Vietnam War. Her mother is of French descent, while her father is Vietnamese. Tila Nguyen is considered to be one of the most beautiful women in the world, due to the combination of the different cultures. After Tila Nguyen and her family moved to America, she became quite a tomboy during high school. Her wild behaviour caused her to be sent to a boarding school for six months. She had a very rebel adolescence: she joined a gang, used fake identification to enter nightclubs and began taking drugs. Tila Nguyen would later claim that she felt confused and lost, due to various personal family and peer pressure issues. At the age of 16, Tila Nguyen experienced a drive-by shooting in Houston. She reports having become pregnant and suffering a miscarriage the following year.

Tila Nguyen took refuge in poetry and later on took on a modelling career for the Playboy magazine. Tila Nguyen further gained popularity through the import racing scene, being featured on the cover of Import Tuner magazine. She raised a lot of controversy, when Tila Nguyen began filming for a reality show which first aired on MTV on October 9, 2007, called A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila. The program was a bisexual themed dating show, where sixteen straight men and sixteen lesbian women competed for Tila Nguyen’s affections. The twist was that the contestants were not aware of her bisexuality until the end of the first episode. Tila Nguyen has managed to remain under the spotlight even now.
